I got a Shiba Inu!

I'm soooo happy. Ever since I've known what a pet is, I've wanted one. Also, since then, I've especially loved dogs. I've interacted with many and always knew that a dog was the kind of pet I wanted in my life. I have owned a guinea pig (RIP), and many fish (RIP). The RIP is not there because I  killed them....they lived awesome lives....except my guinea pig that my mom gave to someone else....they had like 19 pets...and they all died (they loved pets but weren't good caretakers).
There are many dogs in the world, but there was one breed in particular that I have always wanted. As you know, I am fascinated with many things Japanese. This is also true for dogs–– I've always loved Shiba Inus. They are so beautiful and it's also a nice perk that they are smart! However, with intelligence comes some troubles like escape attempts and tricks... Therefore, they are not recommended as pets for first time dog owners. Unfortunately for me, I would fall in that class. However, I was still determined to get one, and I believe that I have sufficient experience with dogs (my friends and grandma have dogs). My mother on the other hand did not believe this to be true (and she doesn't like pets, especially dogs...).
So, I proposed a agreement, if I could take care of my friend/neighbor's dog (my friend had just went to university, so it was harder for her family to take care of him because she was his main caretaker) for 80 days, we could get a dog. Before the 80 days were up (around the 60th day), we were contacted by a breeder that our name had come up and there was a puppy ready. My mom insisted that we not get a dog, or wait later, but I knew that if I waited, it would be a long time until another puppy was ready. We had to go for this chance. My father and sister also love animals, so the only one against it was my mom. We went to get the puppy on the arranged day and brought him back. My mom was angry that she wasn't notified, even though we had told her ahead of time which day we would be getting the dog. Surprisingly, within the first two days she became really fond of him. She calls him baby and babies him soooo much. When her friends come over, she brags about him. I have no idea why, but she loves him soooooooo much, even though she was totally against a dog.
Well, it all worked out somehow....and he is such a nice dog. He does get bitey at times though, enough to be considered a landshark by the vet. He is sooooocute though! There was dispute over his name though....he was Take, then Inari, then Kamui...but then I came up with Kenshin. My sister and I like the name kenshin but my dad wants to call him Kamui. My mom just calls him baby. Then, recently my dad began to call him piisuke~, which is really funny :P
Anyway, I'm glad he is in my life, and I hope he will continue to be for many more years.
The dog on the right is Louie, my neighbor's dog. He is a 3 year old Shih tzu.

Louie likes to smell people's (&dogs') butts
